Frequently Asked Questions
Below you will find some of our most frequently asked questions. If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Do parents need to stay and watch?
Here at Westside our goal is to make every dancer feel comfortable in our studio. Sometimes it can be overwhelming to come into a new environment with a new group of people but we ensure that your dancer will settle into their class. Initially, if parents want to stay and see how their dancer adapts, we have no problem with it but parents are not required to stay and watch.
We also offer a viewing window where parents can watch class without coming into the studio and distracting our dancers. All we ask is that you show up 5 minutes before your class ends.
What do I do if my dancer tries a class and doesn’t like it?
During their first class they will be learning a lot more than dance, they will be meeting new people, new instructors, and possibly new styles of dance. It is very important to give this process some time to allow dancers to settle in. The more encouraging you are, the better.
If after a month of classes, you still feel that your dancer is not a good fit we encourage you to speak to our staff and see if your dancer needs a different level of classes or different style of classes. After registration, as long as you let us know before the first of the month that you no longer wish to stay enrolled, you will not be charged for classes.
When can I register?
Registration lasts the whole year. You can enroll in any class that is not filled at any time. We recommend your dancer starting at the beginning of the sessions so that they will learn how classes run and work as a team with their class. You can register online here. Please note, once you register, we do not offer refunds, only studio credit. If at any time you'd like to unenroll, let us know and will not be charged for the following month.
Do you offer a family discount?
Yes, we offer a 50% discount for the second dancer in your family that enrolls.
Are there any extra costs that I should know about?
You can expect the regular monthly fee for your classes along with a one-time $25 registration fee. As we get closer to the spring, there will be costume fees for the classes doing recital, which we like to keep under $75. If you are a member of our Competition Team, there will be monthly rehearsal fees and costume fees which both depend on how many routines you are a part of.
